I love working with Lisa. When I’m looking for a role, she gathers a thorough understanding of my needs and expectations. She takes the time to get to know the company and people I’d be working with. When we discuss potential roles, she explains what she sees in the role and the company, and she gives careful consideration to how well the role matches what I’m looking for. All of this up-front work means that when I say “yes” to an interview, it’s because I’m genuinely excited to pursue the role.
Throughout an interview process, Lisa provides context, feedback, and guidance. If I have concerns, she takes them seriously, shares what she knows, and helps me ask the right questions. She is honest when some aspect of a role/company isn’t what I’m hoping for, and we openly discuss how impactful that might be. This means the interview process does exactly what I need it to do: by the end, I feel like I know the company well, and they know me.
When I do get an offer, Lisa advocates for me and helps me advocate for myself, until I’m truly happy with the full package I’d be getting. Even after all that work, though, she does not pressure me to accept a role that I’m not confident about. If I do accept an offer, it’s because I’m THRILLED to accept it. If I don’t accept an offer, Lisa still makes sure that I’ve established a positive relationship with the people I’ve met.
On top of all of this, Lisa is an absolute JOY to work with. Her energy and enthusiasm are infectious; she’s a blast to talk to; she has a deep well of professional and personal wisdom; and she makes me braver in speaking up to make my industry better.
